About Cooking classes:
Will we go shopping at markets?
Yes, but we need to meet 30 minutes earlier, then we can walk around my block to the grocery stores bakery, butcher or fishmonger according to our menu choices.
Can we cook lactose or gluten free?
Yes, it's possible to do this for people with severe allergies since you will control everything step of the cooking
Can we adapt the menu due to religious restrictions?
Yes, I'm used to cooking for many different people with all sorts of beliefs and it's a pleasure to show you either alternatives or influences of their own culture among us.
Will we cook or just watch ?
You will do the most, I will be helping from behind.
Will we cook with Portuguese ingredients?
Yes, 99% of the ingredients are from Portugal, and everything is either fresh or barely processed, preferentially from local suppliers.
What is the basic menu?
For a group of 2
Some appetizers, bread, water and wines.
One main course and a side dish that can be a salad.
A dessert , plus coffee and a Port or spirit.
If the group is bigger than 4 , everything above but, two different main courses and a side dish and a few more appetizers instead
What 's the difference to the better menu?
More expensive ingredients to do even more special recipes and of course, some of my favorite wines that don't fit in the basic menu budget.
Shall we bring wine?
No not needed, I will always have at least one bottle per person, but if you bring,I would prefer something from your home.
How do we get in your place?
From the city center, the best transport is uber, fast, direct and inexpensive.
Bus takes longer, the metro is 10 minutes away, taxi drivers don't have GPS and sometimes get lost.
How long do the classes last?
An average of 3 up to 4 hours.
Depends of the menu and the cooks
My husband/kids/someone doesn't want to participate but he wants to eat. Can he come with us?
Yes, he can just watch and eat and drink.
There are toys everywhere, also musical instruments, video games, board games, TV and a terrace.
Can we do this with large groups?
Yes, we do some team building activities and bachelorette parties too
If the group is larger than 12, we move to the city center to a professional kitchen
