"Me and my friend spent a wonderful evening with Nuno enjoying tasteful Portuguese food and interesting conversation. We felt like visiting a good friend. Nuno is able to create a special warm atmosphere and makes his guests to open up and enjoy the whole setting. He was very generous both with serving local delicatesses (some of them, like olive oil, olives and an excellent port, were even produced by his relatives) and sharing his knowledge about Portuguese history, customs and the daily life. If you are looking for a true “slow food” experience combining with making acquaintance with an intelligent, open-minded and hospitable person, hurry up to book you “Be my guest in Porto” lunch or dinner. I would definitely recommend “Be my guest in Porto” as the best organized activity in Porto for single travelers and small group.
As far as I know Nuno is doing some walking tours as well. I would presume that with his background and extensive knowledge of Portuguese culture and history, these walking tours have to be a head above other similar concepts in Porto." (Svetlana)

Very much enjoyed meeting Nuno, with the opportunity understanding first hand, his perspective on what daily life is like in Porto. Of course, not to forget his cooking and the nice wine that he has chosen for us.

“Wonderful Evening in Porto !” "Me and my friend found Be My Guest in Porto from trip advisor and Nuno replied immediately. We had short notice but he prepared the food and place perfectly for our session! He's very talkative, entertaining and friendly. We had a better understanding of Portuguese food and live! Highly recommend and hope Be My Guest in Porto went well !"

My husband and I had 24 hours in Porto and wanted to make the most of it. We booked a 3 hour highlights tour for the afternoon and a gastronomy event for the evening. Nuno guided us around the city pointing out architecture, and educating us on local history. That night, we joined Nuno again in his apartment across the river. There he prepared a lovely meal complete with dried figs, cheese, olives, bread. olive oil, salad, entree, dessert and, of course, wine.
Wear comfortable shoes for the walk as it is 3 solid hours of walking. Go to dinner hungry!!
We communicated through email. Nuno was very quick to get back to us whenever we had a question. His English is very good. He met us on time and gave us his undivided attention during both of our tours. We had a very nice experience.

My husband and I had a really great dinner with Nuno. We had a typical Portuguese meal cooked with fresh ingredients. We had a great time talking, learning about Oporto's history, architecture, food, etc, ... and all this while drinking a fabulous Portuguese wine! The atmosphere was relaxed and we felt really welcomed.
We highly recommend it.
Next time we'll try one of his tours around the city too.
By the way, we loved Amy, the lady cat. :)

"It was to be a rainy day in Porto so we saw this as a good option to spend the day.
We met Nuno at the metro station and walked to his apartment a short walk from our arranged meeting place. The apartment had a wonderful view from his dining room across to old Porto and was modern and clean.
Nuno's English is very good and his knowledge of the city and the architecture great. We chose 2 traditional Portuguese meals which Nuno demonstrated the cooking method whilst drinking the local red "douro" and some appetisers of ham, olives, cheese, crusty bread & olive oil from the family farm.
Whilst the lunch was cooking we spoke to Nuno about the town and history.
Lunch was consumed continuing our conversation whilst taking in that great view. Lunch was followed by fruit salad soaked in port, and of course a glass of port, again made from fruit sourced from the family farm.
This was a bargain taking close to 3 hours and highly recommended "
